Overcoats
were an essential garment for the cold winter months.
Our overcoat is the result of studying many photographs
and fashion plates, tailors' manuals, and several
original over coats.
This double
breasted oversack is fully lined, quilted through the
chest and back, and features a vented tail. It is
designed to fit over bot h
our sack coats and paletots. Please contact us for
fabric choices and ordering details.

Sack
Coats $240.00
One of the most commonly worn garments throughout the
19th Century, this sack coat was patterned from a 1861
Tailoring diagram. It is fully l ined
and quilted in the front panel. It has two exterior waist pockets,
an exterior breast pocket, and one interior breast
pocket. The coat
comes with cloth covered buttons. The coat can be cut from
wool (lined with cotton sateen) or an unlined version
can be made of linen. (Hand felled linen $225, machine
felled linen $180).
Frock
Coats:
Linen: $350.00
Wool Broadcloth:
start at $650.00
The frock
coat is the quintessential 19th Century garment.
Our
frock pattern
is
based off of several originals in our collection and
our 1853 tailoring manual. Frocks come in two versions;
a unlined summer version made from linen with all the
seams hand felled or a fully-lined winter version made
from imported
wool broadcloth. As frocks are a fitted garment, at
least two fittings are required and we recommend that
you contact us for more information regarding our
frocks.

Paletots
$310.00
Popular
throughout most of the 19th Century, Paletots are an
extremely versatile garment that could be worn by nearly
all classes for nearly any occasion. They were worn from
the 1840s-1890s.
The coats are made from wool and are quilted (see inset
picture). This coat is based off of Past Patterns
pattern.
They
are without a doubt one of the most under
represented garments in the living history hobby! (Hand
felled linen $300, machine felled linen $250).
